The Next Generation of Interlocking Switches
The SensaGuard family of coded non-contact interlock switches
is Cat 4/SIL 3 rated and is intended for use with sliding, hinge or
lift-off machine guard doors. It is particularly suited to machines
where multiple access doors must be monitored up to safety category
4/SIL3.
Featuring the latest generation of RFID technology for coding
and inductive technology for sensing and combining a large sensing
range offering optimum operation and generous tolerance to
misalignment, SensaGuard offers a cost-effective solution that is
ideally suited to a wide range of industrial safety applications.
SensaGuard switches do not require a
dedicated safety controller for its RFID
coding security and thus can be connected
to many types of standard safety controllers
such as Allen-Bradley® Guardmaster safety
relays, SmartGuard™ 600 and Safety I/O
Blocks. Multiple actuator sizes allow for
a large sensing distance – typically 15 to
25mm. Both plastic and stainless steel versions
carry an IP69K environmental rating
and come with electronic short circuit and
over voltage protection built-in.
SensaGuard uses standard size mountings
and proximity switch brackets, making it
easier to retrofit to existing installations. Its
Cat 4/SIL3 rating is maintained even when
multiple units are connected in series. LED
indicators located on the switch give a visual
indication of door status, can indicate
door misalignment and offers advanced
diagnostics to help identify faults to ease
troubleshooting.
A wide range of other Allen-Bradley Guardmaster safety devices,
such as light curtains, E-stops and interlock switches, can also be
easily connected in series to create dynamic machine guarding
solutions.
Features:
• No dedicated controller required for its RFID coding security
• Cat 4/SIL3 rating maintained with multiple units connected
in series
• Switches can be connected in series with other devices (e.g.,
Light Curtains, E-stops, interlock switches)
• Enhanced diagnostics for easy troubleshooting
• Large sensing distance offers optimum operation and tolerance
to misalignment
• Flexible mounting options – ideal for retrofitting
• Switching from multiple directions
• Stainless steel versions suitable for use in harsh environments
• Use standard proximity mounting brackets

Applications:
The SensaGuard product family of coded non-contact interlock
switches is intended for machine guarding with part or full body
access. It is particularly suited for machines where multiple access
doors must be monitored up to Safety category 4/SIL3. The stainless
steel version is suitable for use in harsh environments or highpressure
washdown areas typically found in the food and beverage
industries. Other typical industries include:
• Packaging
• Material Handling
• Printing, Paper, Paperboard
• Life Sciences
• Fiber and Textiles
