Stratix ™ Portfolio of Industrial
Ethernet Products
Deployment of Ethernet on the plant floor
as well as across the enterprise, combined
with increasing business pressures on
manufacturers has created network and
technology convergence around Ethernet.
This has created the organizational and
cultural convergence for IT and Manufacturing
Controls organizations.
The Stratix™ portfolio of industrial Ethernet
infrastructure products is designed to
help facilitate your network convergence.
The portfolio features a Rockwell Automation
and Cisco co-branded line of modular,
managed switches with attributes that will
add value to both IT and automation controls
professionals. Other product lines in
the portfolio include Embedded Technology,
as well as lines of fixed managed and
unmanaged switches and physical media.
The entire portfolio uses standard, unmodified
Ethernet and is optimized for use in
EtherNet/IP applications and the Integrated
Architecture, while the Cisco operating
system, user environment and feature set is
exclusive to the Stratix 8000 line.
Stratix 8000 Co-brand Modular Managed
Switches, with Cisco Technology
Cisco and Rockwell Automation jointly
collaborated on co-branded industrial
managed switches. They are the first of its
kind and includes features optimized for
both IT and manufacturing environments.
The switch line uses the current Cisco
Catalyst® operating system, feature set, and
user interface making IT professionals feel
at home. At the same time, it provides easy
set-up and comprehensive diagnostic information
from within the Rockwell Automation
Integrated Architecture™.
Stratix 6000 Fixed Managed Switches:
Gain Control of Your Ethernet Network
Maximize your network uptime and overall
productivity by monitoring network
status through the control system. With
the Stratix 6000* you now have real-time
access to critical network data through
your Logix-based control system. The

module appears as standard I/O, seamlessly
integrating into Logix programs and
updating tags automatically. This allows
you to continuously monitor your network
for configuration changes, traffic overload,
and unauthorized access — and proactively
implement changes to prevent a significant
reduction in performance or unplanned
downtime event.
Stratix 2000 Unmanaged Switches
These are industrial grade products with 4
to 8 ports that offer a variety of copper and
fiber options. The unmanaged switches are
easy to apply because they do not require
any configuration and use simple cable
connections. Products will also be available
for more demanding on-machine (IP67)
applications.

Embedded Switch Technology: Flexible
Topology Options
Embedded Ethernet technology directly
into end devices enables greater topology
configuration choices for EtherNet/IP
applications, such as linear and ring. The
technology allows for a high performance
ring capability (make/break < 1ms), complete
with diagnostics and fast recovery
to lower your downtime. The Embedded
Technology builds popular switch features
directly into your hardware, these features
are useful in high performance applications
without the need for configuration.
