A non-contact solution for error proofing,
inspecting, positioning and measuring
45BPD & 45BRD
The new Allen-Bradley 45BPD and 45BRD
photoelectric sensors are intended for industrial
applications requiring reliable
non-contact inspection, positioning and
measurement. These sensors are completely
self-contained in an IP67 enclosure and do
not require any external control devices which
add cost and require additional mounting
space. In addition, the 45BPD and 45BRD
utilize a class 2 laser which has a visible red
beam spot that simplifies alignment in small
part detection and measurement applications.
Both are excellent solutions for a wide
range of non-contact measurement applications
requiring sensing range up to 300mm
(approximately 1 foot). Typical applications
include: distance measurement, part profil-
ing, thickness measurement, error proof
ing, inspection, verifying material position,
hole depth, warpage and part positioning.
45BPD & 45BRD Features
• Non-contact measurement
• Visible red Class 2 laser for small beam
spot and alignment
• Self-contained sensor does not require
external control devices
• 270° rotatable micro quick disconnect
• Fixed range model has no user adjustment
for ease of use
• Teach-in models provide a discrete PNP
output and an analog output that’s automatically
scaled between taught set points
• Teach-in models have configurable discrete
output (N.O./N.C.), laser disable
control, averaging mode and lock-out
capabilities

45CPD
The new Allen-Bradley 45CPD line of photoelectric
sensors is ideal for industrial applications
requiring long range detection
(up to 6m) with a small beam spot and
non-contact measurement. These sensors
are completely self-contained in an IP67
enclosure and do not require any external
control devices which add cost and require
additional mounting space. In addition,
the 45CPD utilizes a class 2 laser for
ease of alignment during the sensor setup
but switches to a class 1 “eye safe” IR laser
when in the normal operating mode. The
45CPD is set up quickly and easily using
the Teach-In buttons on the top of the
sensor and can be programmed for several
operating modes depending on the application:
object position (analog output), object
detection (single or dual discrete output),
background suppression or reflector mode
(using the background as the reflector).
45CPD Features
• Long distance non-contact measurement
and detection (6m)
• Eye safe Class 1 laser for operation
• Visible red Class 2 laser for alignment during
set-up
• Easy set-up using teach-in buttons
• Self-contained sensor does not require external
control devices
• Two discrete outputs (PNP) and analog
output (4…20mA)
• Analog output is automatically scaled between
taught set points
• Discrete outputs configurable for either
Light Operate or Dark Operate operation

The Bulletin 836E pressure and
Bulletin 837E temperature families of
solid-state condition sensing switches are
microprocessor based and designed with
no moving parts, providing a longer service
life and reducing downtime. Their rugged,
corrosion-resistant 316 stainless steel
construction offers an IP66 enclosure rating
and allows these compact new condition
sensors to withstand harsh industrial
conditions, and the laser-etched label is more
durable than the standard adhesive labels
commonly found on similar products.
Each switch contains two independently
programmable PNP outputs which can be
set for either normally open or normally
closed operation. Plus, the industry-leading
4-character, 14-segment digital display
shows condition indication and the unit of
measure selected as well as detailed menu
options during programming.
All options, including the dual setpoints,
operating mode, and display preferences
are quickly and easily configured via the
built-in programming buttons or through
optional Windows -based configuration
software that significantly reduces set-up
time, especially for installations requiring a
large number of switches.
