Data Center Deal
One of Schaedler Yesco’s long-term Electri-
cal Division customers, Hanover Pavers,
makers of high-quality concrete pavers, was
building a brand-new $10 million corporate
headquarters and needed a new data center.
They knew we had a DataComm Division
and checked out our website to see if we
could help them.
Hanover’s data center has the typical e-mail
and business applications that run on differ-
ent servers; however, they continue to grow
and expand. So we recommended APC ® by
Schneider Electric’s InfraStruXure ® architec-
ture, with a scalable 40kW Symmetra ® unit
loaded with 30 kW.
One of the great things about InfraStruX-
ure is the ability to more easily manage
and monitor your IT infrastructure. We
invited the customer to come visit our
data center to see how it works in real
time. Our data center features all of the
APC InfraStruXure products, including the
innovative InRow ® cooling solution that
helps us eliminate hot spots.
The deal clincher for Hanover was when
we fired up the APC management software
in our demo data center and walked them
through the features and functions. It con-
trols and monitors UPSs, enables automated
server shutdown in the event of an outage,
and offers environmental monitoring such as
humidity and temperature for early warning
of conditions that can cause network failure.
In fact, the biggest benefit to Hanover from
the whole project is that they now have
the ability to proactively manage their IT
network and take all the guesswork out of
what’s going on in their data center.
Like many other users, Hanover has learned
that InfraStruXure offers a systematic ap-
proach to building economic, manageable
power systems for data centers utilizing
standardized, adaptable components. Essen-
tially this enables data center users to grow
in a flexible and economic fashion parallel
with actual demand.
